Featured Artist: Lollie Ortiz

It has been said that "curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back". This statement is certainly true for artist Lollie Ortiz. In fact it was Ms. Ortiz’s childhood curiosity of the world around her that led her to satisfy that curiosity by expressing it in art. First and foremost, she loves vibrant colors and playful movement. Her artwork is fun, lively, but can also be dramatic. Some of her favorite subjects to use in her artwork are celebrities; beloved familiar faces. Here are some familiar faces brought to vibrancy by Ms. Ortiz; Hollywood legend and beauty, Elizabeth Taylor, Memphis favorite son, Elvis Presley and the world famous fab-four, The Beatles. In her artwork, she blends photography as well as graphic art to produce finished pieces that pop. Of her style, Ms. Ortiz states, "From an artistic direction, my passion for simplicity, bright colors and dramatic compositions encompasses most of my work with these elements as a central theme."
